Report: Jack Nicklaus Being Sued By the Nicklaus Companies
Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus is in the news again—this time he’s being sued by members of his namesake company.
Last week, the Golden Bear said that he turned down a $100 million offer to be the public face of LIV Golf Investments, and now, a complaint was filed in New York against the 82-year-old by Nicklaus Companies for breach of contract and other claims.

The complaint states that in 2007, Nicklaus was paid $145 million to provide exclusive services for the Nicklaus Companies, and the suit alleges that he has not fulfilled his obligations and has even worked directly against the company at times.
Nicklaus’s flirtation with the Saudi-backed LIV tour is one of three points in the suit. That point alleges that Nicklaus even engaging in talks to work with that group damaged his brand and reputation, and it claims that the company itself was able to talk Nicklaus out of taking that $100 million deal.
The second claim involves Nicklaus taking a cash payment to promote the DP World Tour’s 2022 Soudal Open in Belgium, and the third is for wrongful conduct over his involvement in a video game being developed with the Masters and PGA Tour.
Each party released a statement to SI.
Nicklaus denies the claims, and the company said that they are looking for the court to sort out what Nicklaus can and cannot do within the framework of his agreement with the company that bears his name.
