“Boom Boom” Freddy Couples Reveals His Fate

Boom Boom still has power off of the tee! At 62 years old he is still hitting it 280+ off of the tee. Even with a nagging back injury Couples has been hanging in there and has had a limited schedule. Only playing in three events this year including the Masters, is quite a small number of tournaments to be playing in for Couples.

The former Masters Champion revealed some important news with golf fans after the 1st round at the Champions Tour, Principal Charity Open.

Couples shared with us that he feels like the reason he has been choking is that he will retire if he wins one more time on the Champions Tour. It could be a reason for putting extra pressure on himself, however, his back hasn’t been too kind to him for quite some time. Boom Boom knows he needs to keep playing and stay healthy so he can compete with the other tour players to achieve his goal.

Smooth-swinging Freddy has an outside chance of pulling it off this week as he is 5 shots off of the lead going into the final round. All it takes is to post a great final round score to put yourself in the position for a playoff or the win. He is definitely made for the moment with 13 victories on the Champions Tour and another 15 on the PGA Tour.

Freddy will definitely be missed by tour players, golf fans for his silky, smooth swing and charisma when he wins for the last time.

All the best for Boom Boom going forward it has been an excellent ride!
