Weyburn Saskatchewan Native Graham DeLaet Announces His Retirement From the PGA TOUR
Graham DeLaet has officially announced his retirement from the PGA TOUR after suffering ongoing back problems since the age of fifteen years old.
DeLaet said it was a mentally tough ongoing process as he has been a professional golfer his whole life but with his back problems enduring his difficulty to strike the ball in proper form and relying on various back surgeries, it was time for one of Canada’s greatest golf players to finally call his golf career quits.
PGA Canadian tour player Corey Conners emphasized how he always looked up to DeLaet’s pure golf swing and how he was always an enjoyable guy to be around. Delaet’s simple and effective golf swing attracted a whole golf nation as he effortlessly nailed his drives off of the tee and onto the greens.
It would have been honestly great to look back on Delate’s career wondering what his talented career would have been like without the troublesome of his back problems. With plenty of top ten finishes nearing close to that first win, rising high to 26th in the world golf rankings, and being named to the 2013 presidents cup, Graham DeLaet’s remarkable career will never be forgotten.
He will now look ahead to his next future of continuing as a golf analyst and of course playing some friendly and fun golf too.
