Fedex Cup Playoffs: Rickie Fowler Just BARELY Slips Into The Playoffs
PGA Tour Veteran Rickie Fowler has made the playoffs right on the bubble at the 125th spot in the FedEx Cup points. Fowler had never missed the playoffs until last year, when his streak of 11 consecutive appearances was snapped.
Rickie is back in the action but will need to bring out the Rickie we all know and love to go deep into the playoffs.

Still Lots of Potential
He has not cracked the top 10 since the CJ Cup in October, where we saw a glimpse of Fowler’s solid form where he had shot 66, 66, 63, and 71 to fall just three shots behind eventual winner Rory McIlroy. All things considered, Fowler still has a chance to make something special out of the opportunity he has.
Fowler is Young
It can easily be overlooked, but Fowler is only 33 years old. Take, for example, Jason Dufner; he won the PGA Championship at 36. Fowler has plenty of experience in majors and also in big tournaments, winning the Players Championship in 2015 that was won in a riveting fashion.
Future for Fowler
Depending on what Fowler and his team decide, it could be an option to move to another tour as he talked on the topic during the PGA Championship media day.
Fowler said:
“To be straightforward with you guys, I haven’t necessarily made a decision one way or the other… I’ve mentioned in the past, do I currently think the PGA Tour is the best place to play? I do. Do I think it can be better? Yes… So I think it’s an interesting position. Obviously, there’s the LIV and the Premier (Golf League), as well.”
