Westwood Scorns PGA Developments: ‘Just Copying LIV’
Lee Westwood has declared that he finds the recent PGA developments laughable.
“I laugh at what the PGA Tour did. It’s just a copy of what LIV is doing’.
Lee Westwood isn’t holding back.
What do you think? Is he right or wrong?

A former World Number 1 and decorated veteran of the game, Westwood is approaching 50 and his decision to be paid more to play less is understood by many and accepted by most. However, his comments are ill-timed, because while simultaneously harping on the LIV tagline of ‘growing the game’ he looks on with derision at the progress made by his former place of work.
Guaranteed income for Korn Ferry graduates is not ‘laughable’. Having the best players in the world compete against each other on a regular basis certainly is not, either.
Lee Westwood isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

Westwood went on to slate the tactics used by the PGA Tour to deter players from certain events, citing the example of the World Matchplay in Australia, usually around January. ‘Some may say I am cynical, but all I am doing is seeing through the bulls**t’.
It’s not the most open-minded take. Whether Westwood is spiteful – or more likely – simply resents the backlash of his decision to join LIV – he is not gaining any fans by scorning the new developments laid out by the PGA Tour.
