Cameron Smith Stripped of Winner’s Privileges at TPC Sawgrass
Cameron Smith is hoping that his win at The Open Championship this summer will allow him to play in the majors for the next five years no matter how the situation with LIV Golf members earning Official World Golf Ranking points shakes out, but one thing seems for sure: he won’t be involved in the unofficial fifth major anytime soon.
Smith, who won The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass this past season, had his winner’s parking spot removed from the course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

When questioned by Golfweek, TPC Sawgrass General Manager Derek Sprague offered this explanation:
“If they go to LIV, they don’t have any of their (PGA) Tour privileges at TPC properties.”
In addition, Smith’s winning clubs, replica bag, and photos of the victory have all been purged from the pro shop and clubhouse.
The real kick in the pants for Smith?
He lives in Ponte Vedra Beach and was a regular at TPC Sawgrass. He said before The Players Championship this past March that he practiced at the course three to four times per week.
So like many things in Smith’s life that have changed over the past few months, this is another one that he will have to navigate.
