While promotional materials from abroad have found their way onto the internet, Mizuno’s social media post provides a nice preview of the new, final JPX 923 Series, which appear to consist of the TOUR, Forged, Hot Metal, Hot Metal Pro and Hot Metal HL (High Launch) models.

The news isn’t too earth-shattering, considering the JPX 923 Series models are listed for sale on many foreign (JDM and Europe) golf retailers’ websites.

From their limited product descriptions, it appears the primary new feature for the JPX Hot Metal variants will be the implementation of nickel Chromoly, a new material that provides tremendous ball speed gains and, thus, allowed Mizuno’s engineers to focus on feel and stopping power. At 35% stronger than the original Hot Metal material, 4335 Nickel Chromoly enables a high-energy 8% thinner clubface.

As for TOUR, it appears this JPX 923 model will be the first to feature copper plating to provide a softer feeling—a design feature borrowed from the Mizuno Pro models.

Meanwhile, the FORGED, Mizuno has added forged with high-strength chromium molybdenum (SCM420), and an evolved version of their micro-slot processing that excavates the sole part from the cavity part, resulting in the thinnest face in the history of JPX forged irons.

Fortunately, Mizuno has confirmed that the technological specifics for the 5 new JPX 923 Series will be released on September 23rd, so we don’t have to wait much longer to hear what the premium iron manufacturer will be rolling out.
