Even though he won’t be playing at his Hero World Challenge event in the Bahamas this weekend due to a foot injury, Tiger Woods made his mark at his press conference on Tuesday.

Among the remarks, calling for LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman to resign.

Echoing the recent sentiments of Rory McIlroy, Woods believes there is a way for the PGA Tour and LIV Golf to move forward—but not with Norman at the helm of the rival organization.

Woods also said that any potential lawsuits would have to be dropped for there to be so-called peace talks from both groups.

Woods explained:

“I see that there’s an opportunity out there if both organizations put a stay on their litigation, but that’s the problem, they’ve got to put a stay on it. And whether or not they do that or not, there’s no willingness to negotiate if you have litigation against you. So if they both have a stay and then have a break and then they can meet and figure something out, then maybe there is something to be had. But I think Greg has to go, first of all, and then obviously litigation against us and then our countersuit against them, those would then have to be at a stay as well. So then we can talk, we can all talk freely.”

Woods also said that his golf game is sound, despite the foot injury. He will likely use a cart in the father-son PNC Championship, and he also plans to play in The Match next week.

As for LIV Golf, Norman has not announced any new players as of late, but he did poach a golf course away from the PGA Tour.

It’s being reported that Mexico’s Mayakoba Resort will host the LIV season opener in February 2023. Since 2007, the course—which was designed by Norman—was a part of the PGA Tour’s fall series, but its future was in doubt starting in 2024 based on the PGA Tour’s upcoming schedule revamp.
