Justin Thomas Goes With Old Faithful & Switches Back To His Middle School Putter
Justin Thomas ditched the Scotty Cameron Phantom T5 Prototype that he has used in recent memory for his Middle School putter.
The Scotty Cameron Circle T blade, which appears to be a Newport 2 design based on the sharper angles on the back of the putter head.
Justin Thomas is making a fun putter change this week, going back to a Scotty Cameron blade he first gamed in middle school (!) and hasn’t used in competition since college.

According to Golf.com’s Dylan Dethier, Thomas has not had this putter in the bag since his University of Alabama days, but putter changes are not uncommon at any level of golf. Thomas was tied for 85th on Tour last season in strokes gained putting, tied with Tony Finau with a .091 average.
JT said the putter usually does end up with him on trips but never really brings it with any purpose of playing rounds.
“I travel with this putter a bunch. I’ve brought it to tournaments with no intention of really using it, but it’s good for practice,”
Thomas added:
“I like putting with it. So why fight it?”
Thomas is playing with the putter this week in Kapalua. He is currently T26 after one round, sitting at -3.
