Masters Appears to Be Giving LIV Golf Members Equal Coverage on Social Media
One of the big questions going into this year’s Masters tournament is how will the LIV Golf players who qualified be treated by Augusta National and broadcast partners CBS and ESPN?
Based on the Masters’ Twitter account, the answer to that question appears to be: fairly.
On Monday night, the official account for the year’s first major posted a profile on Cameron Smith, who finished third last year and is the reigning Open Championship winner. He joined LIV Golf following the Tour Championship last summer.

We knew that Rory McIlroy played a practice round with Brooks Koepka on Tuesday. That evening, the Masters champions gathered for their annual dinner. Winners from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf are among the smiling faces in the group photo.

During Wednesday’s par-3 tournament, we saw two-time champion Bubba Watson—now a member of LIV—sink an ace that was also posted to social media.

As for the tournament coverage itself, CBS Sports boss Sean McManus said last week that LIV and PGA Tour players will be equal coverage during the tournament based on how they’re faring during the event. Don’t expect the rival groups to explicitly be brought up unless there’s a distinct reason—like if Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed are in the final group on Sunday.
Footage has emerged of Patrick Reed allegedly throwing a tee at Rory McIlroy after being snubbed by the World No 1.

While it’s impossible to know if there will be fireworks to come, so far, the PGA Tour and LIV Golf members are coexisting as peacefully as the serene grounds of Augusta National.
