Titleist Players 4 StaDry: First Impressions and a Way-Too-Early Review
Titleist recently sent me a new bag to try out and give a review on, and while I plan on doing a much more in-depth review of some of its actual on-course features, there was plenty to talk about as I took it right out of the box.
I have always had a Titleist bag and started with a 14-divider cart bag, and was tired of having my grips catch when pulling them out. I decided to go with the Players 4 bag last year, and while it has been great to me, I can already see the vast improvements the new Players 4 StaDry has over last year’s non-StaDry.

Right off the bat, I could tell the big difference was storage. While Titleist flexed the StaDry’s weight and versatility, it comes in just one-tenth of a pound lighter than the 2021 Players 4 bag, which is still incredibly light.
However, weight was never a big issue for me as I’ve always been a rider and not a walker. However, that will be changing with the StaDry bag, and that is something I plan to review in a few weeks.
What really stood out to me was the vast amount of storage the new bag has to offer. I carry a lot of things in my bag, like a Pelz Putting Tutor, an extra glove, plenty of balls for the chipping area at my club, tape, a rangefinder, and more. The old Players 4 bag never gave me much trouble until recently when a buddy of mine asked me to get a marker out so he could mark his ball, it took me 45 seconds to find it, and then I realized I might need to consolidate some space.
I didn’t have that issue yesterday when I was looking to grab something from my new Players 4 StaDry, and the images show. There is so much more room in this bag, which greatly improves from what I had previously.

Another big plus was the fact that my clubs are not catching onto things in the bag, nor on one another. This was always my issue with 13 and 14-divider bags and the last Players 4 bag. I believe the sheer amount of additional space while not sacrificing weight or design is a big reason for this.
When you have things like rain gear, a rain cover, and other bulky items in the side pockets, things tend to get tight. I haven’t noticed that in this new bag.

Finally, I decided to suck it up and go out to the chipping area yesterday despite some really crappy weather and moist conditions. I figured it was an ideal time to test out the StaDry feature, and I was impressed.
The bag managed to stay extremely dry, which not only keeps it lightweight but also keeps the back of your car or SUV from getting drenched. Waterproofing is a big plus in many climates, and in Pennsylvania, there are plenty of rounds I’ve played where downpours come out of nowhere. This new StaDry bag will definitely keep my mind at ease when that happens.

All-in-all, the new Players 4 StaDry bag is one I’d recommend to anyone, and I’m really excited to put it through a more treacherous test in the coming weeks as I will walk 9 holes and record my thoughts. I have never walked a round of golf, so I’m definitely interested in seeing how it holds up and how my back feels afterward.
Keep an eye out for upcoming and more in-depth reviews of the Titleist StaDry Players 4 bag!
