New Titleist T-Series Irons Debut for Tour Validation

The Titleist T-Series irons have been a huge success since their initial release in 2019 and the second generation two years ago. And the newest, third generation of the T-Series have finally debuted, so they can go through the final step—Tour Validation—before hitting consumer’s hands.

And while I’m still digesting this release pictures, I am inclined to say they are beautiful and provide an aesthetic improvement over the current, second-generation irons (pictured immediately below):

The immediate thing that jumps out to me is that there is a uniform design philosophy from the 620 CB to the newly-renamed Titleist T350 (from T300).  As a result, the new generation truly lends itself to a blended set with a seamless transition from the top—perhaps with some T200—to bottom—maybe with a combination of T150 (formerly T100S) and T100s.

Notably absent from the teaser image of the new T-Series is the T400. But there are potentially two explanations for that. First, the last generation T400 wasn’t released until approximately 6 months after the launch of the other T-Series, so the T400s may still be in the lineup.  Second, the T350 may be alluding to the fact that the T400 is no longer necessary.

As for technology, nothing can be immediately spotted on the irons—unlike the prior generation and Max Impact technology that was visible in its cavity—so it’s all (presumably) going on underneath the exterior. That said, all of the irons now appear to be “forged,” as suggested by the hosel stamping. While that certainly does not suggest that all of these irons are a “one-piece” forging, like the 620 MB and CB, what it does mean is that all of the T-Series now will feature a forged body that will likely be paired with a forged face for a solid feel, high-ball speed performance combination.

The new T-Series debut this weekend at the Memorial Tournament, where a number of Titleist staffers—Cameron Young, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Lanto Griffin, Tom Hoge, Joseph Bramlett, and Wyndham Clark, among others—will be in the field and, thus, it will speak volumes if any of the current stable—along with other brand-unrestricted players—put any of the new T-Series irons into play the first week that they’re made available to the TOUR.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron. And despite living in NYC, Eric makes it a priority to work on his game and fitness during the week, along with a round or two over the weekend. Fortunately, he’s got a very understanding fiancé who (for the time being) accepts him and his obsession. Follow Eric on IG @hozel_rocket.
