Brandel Chamblee Believes LIV Golf Will Be No More in New Deal, Players Will ‘Be Out of a Job’
You probably didn’t have to take a wild guess to think that Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee would be among those against Tuesday’s news that the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)—the money behind LIV Golf—would be entering into a merger of sorts.
In fact, Brooks Koepka, the LIV Golf member who won the PGA Championship last month, took a shot at the analyst on Twitter shortly after the news broke. Chamblee was adamant, even after winning the year’s second major, that Koepka should be allowed nowhere near this year’s U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Chamblee was on Rich Eisen’s radio show on Thursday, which the host joked was the welfare check.
Did a welfare check on the @GolfChannel analyst after what’s been the craziest week in the golf world — we talked everything about the #PGATour and PIF deal and what it all means:#DPWorldTour #LIVgolf @philmickelson @bkoepka @b_dechambeau pic.twitter.com/aKMQBKbgYy

Chamblee said that he believes if the deal goes through, Jay Monahan will choose to disband LIV Golf, leaving the players who departed the PGA Tour no choice but to come back if they wish to continue their pro careers.
“[LIV players’] route back to the PGA Tour is Jay Monahan. …Their avenue back through golf is going to be a highly penalized one to play the PGA Tour. So, Phil, Brooks, Bryson, I don’t think they fully understand the ramifications if the deal goes through. They are all out of a job.”
Chamblee quipped:
“They’re not that bright.”
Regardless of the outcome of this deal, one thing is for sure: the feud between Chamblee and the LIV Golfers (or PGA Tour defectors, if LIV goes away) will continue.
