Rory McIlroy Resigning from PGA Tour Policy Board, Leaving USA
In a matter of 24 hours, Rory McIlroy—who’s been the unofficial pro-PGA Tour player spokesperson since the start of LIV—has decided to resign from the PGA Tour’s Policy Board.

AND, more recently, leaked details that he intends to permanently move back to Europe, specifically London.
The announcements are, simply put, very unexpected given Rory’s announcement to join the Boston Common Golf TGL team and, perhaps more importantly, that the PGA Tour-LIV merger may be—to Rory’s pleasure—falling apart, with rumors recently coming out that suggest Fenway Sports Group may be the proverbial “white knight” that bails out the Tour and prevents the PIF takeover.
While the move is not allegedly “imminent,” reports are claiming that the McIlroy family always planned to move to London when Rory approached the end of his career.

Personally, I think Rory is tired. He’s tired of being the outspoken player that’s constantly being poked and prodded for comments about every decision the PGA Tour makes, ranging from the implementation of elevated events to the very unexpected announcement of a partnership with its former sworn enemy.
Notably, Tiger Woods elected to join the PGA Tour’s Policy Board just this past August, so perhaps through some backchannel conversations it became clear that Rory would need to pass the torch to someone who can dedicate more time, energy and emotions to the Tour.
