Brooks Koepka posted a cheeky response to Rory McIlroy’s most recent comments regarding LIV Golf, as the Northern Irishman, who has been the most vocal critic of the PGA Tour’s rival, changed his tune in an interview this week.

McIlroy said in an interview that he “was maybe a little judgemental of the guys who went to LIV” and that the promotion has “exposed the flaws in the system of what golf has.” He also said he “can’t believe the PGA Tour has done so well for so long.”

It was a major changeup from McIlroy, who said on several occasions that he “hates LIV” and seemed to have a relatively cold demeanor toward several players who had left the PGA Tour for the Saudi-back golf league.

One of the players who left the Tour for LIV was Brooks Koepka. McIlroy and Koepka live close to one another in Florida and also are still friends. This was evident following Koepka’s win at Oak Hill and the PGA Championship last Spring, as McIlroy was one of the first people to congratulate the five-time Major Champion on his most recent accomplishment.

However, Koepka is more than aware that McIlroy’s thoughts and feelings on LIV and its players are also in relation to him. Despite Koepka and McIlroy’s continued friendship, there is likely still some bitterness considering what Rory has said about LIV and the players who left it.

But after McIlroy’s comments this morning, it appears Koepka had a cheeky and humorous response:

Koepka’s LIV Golf team, Smash GC, also got in on the action:

Not too many people could have seen Rory ever admitting the positives of LIV. However, plenty of people are going to have something to say about the new narrative.
