Tiger Woods Cites Influenza For WD at the Genesis: ‘Resting and Feeling Better’
Tiger Woods has taken to social media less than 24 hours after withdrawing from the Genesis Invitational, just seven holes into his second round.
There was speculation as Tiger was driven back to the clubhouse in a golf cart, head in hands, and then an ambulance appeared on site. Various images began flooding into our timelines from the guys on the ground, saying that Tiger was in the ambulance and hooked up to IV’s and fluids.
Turns out, Tiger was never in there, and after some time, Rob McNamara informed us that Tiger was ill; physically fine but dehydrated and under the weather.
We have now been told Tiger was suffering from influenza.

It’s a tumultuous time for Tiger and the Tour. The big Cat’s WD was followed by Jordan Spieths DQ, and an MC from JT completed the trifecta of all the wrong acronyms to the weekend.
Hopefully Tiger recovers, but his ‘one event a month’ plan for 2024 may have taken a hit, especially as he will want to prioritise his Masters appearance this season.
