The PGA Championship is Set to Return to Kiawah Island!
The PGA is officially returning to Kiawah Island, with the Major championship heading to the ocean course in 2031.
The site of Rory McIlroy’s second Major win in which he secured the all time margin of victory by eight strokes back in 2012, the South Carolina site has had its fair share of memorable moments.
These include the ‘War on the Shore’ at the 1991 Ryder cup – cited this way as the American fans become overly partisan to the point of harassing the European players. Etched in history as Bernhard Langer had a putt to secure the Ryder Cup and missed.

Obviously the standout recent Major success of Phil Mickelson was an incredible addition to the history books at Kiawah, as then 50-year-old Phil Mickelson notched his sixth Major, holding off Brooks Koepka down the stretch on Sunday in 2021.
Kiawah will become just the ninth course to host three or more PGA Championships, propelling it into elite company down the Eastern coast.
