Scottie Scheffler’s First Hole as a Father: Hole-Out Eagle from 169 Yards

The saying goes, “The rich get richer.” Scottie Scheffler is the embodiment of that motto.

Scheffler’s first hole at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky was more of the same. After winning The Masters for the second time earlier this year and celebrating the birth of his first child earlier this month, Scheffler’s last 45 days got even better.

His first hole on Thursday started with a tee shot that landed in the fairway. His second shot, a 169-yard approach into the 487-yard Par 4, could not have gone better. It went in the hole, and Scheffler started his day -2 through 1 hole:

Scheffler is playing alongside two Major Champions from 2023: Wyndham Clark, who won the United States Open, and Brian Harman, who won The Open Championship.

Scheffler will be chasing after Xander Schauffele, who shot a course-record 62 for -9. He sits three clear of Tony Finau and Sahith Theegala, who shot -6 65s today.
