DeChambeau’s Accomplishments: A Second Act With LIV
DeChambeau, born Sept. 16, 1993, won the NCAA individual championship in 2015 at SMU in Texas. Later that year, he won the U.S. Amateur title. Shortly after, he turned pro.
In July 2017, DeChambeau picked up his first PGA Tour title at the John Deere Classic. He won four times in 2018, including at the Memorial. In 2020, he captured his first major by winning the U.S. Open. He also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando, Florida, in 2021. During this time, DeChambeau added 40 pounds to become the PGA Tour’s leader in driving distance.
In late 2021 and 2022, DeChambeau battled wrist and back injuries. He then joined LIV Golf for its inaugural season in 2022. After returning to full health in 2023, including losing most of the weight he put on, DeChambeau made golf history by shooting a 58 in the final round of LIV Golf Greenbrier in West Virginia, tying the lowest score ever shot in men’s pro golf. He also won later that year in Chicago and his Crushers GC team captured the LIV Golf team championship in 2023.
2024 marked his return to prominence on the major stage, finishing sixth at the Masters, runner-up at the PGA Championship, and winning the U.S. Open by one stroke over Rory McIlroy. The U.S. Open was his 13th win as a professional. After that win, he stands 43rd on the PGA Tour money list with over $34 million in winnings, plus another $15 million plus on the LIV tour as of June 2024. Celebrity Net Worth figures his overall net worth at around $14 million.
Personal Life: North Texas Mansion
DeChambeau currently lives in a mansion outside of Dallas that, as of June 2024, is on the market for north of $3 million. In 2024, DeChambeau gave a tour of the 7,700-square-foot home that features a home gym, indoor driving simulator, and tons of golf memorabilia.
