Hurricane Debby Makes Her Mark on the Wyndham Championship
The Wyndham Championship is set to decide who will make the FedEx Cup Playoffs and who will book a jet to a private island early as the PGA TOUR season comes to a close.
However, one element of the playing experience is set to miss out on the tournament’s first round as Hurricane Debby will pummel North Carolina tomorrow. Wyndham Championship officials confirmed today there will be no spectators for the first round of the tournament this week due to severe rainfall.

Tournament Director Bobby Powell detailed the decision:
“This decision was a difficult one for us to make with our partners at the PGA TOUR, but everyone’s safety is our top priority. The most-recent forecast looks like the storm could clear our area sometime Friday.”
Tee times will start at 6:50 a.m. local time on Thursday and span across the day. However, it is unknown how much play will actually be achieved as the forecast is looking as if it might not ever stop raining during the first day.
