Jon Rahm Won A LOT of Money After Controversial LIV Golf Move
The narrative this year was that Jon Rahm was not playing very well, he did not have the game he had on the PGA TOUR, and he was not the same golfer as before due to his move to LIV Golf.
The numbers and his paychecks say otherwise.
After yesterday’s $22 million, Rahm’s earnings for the year were $34.7 million.
Rahm took home LIV’s season-long individual championship yesterday at the tour’s Chicago event. It was his fourth win on LIV this year, and he never finished outside the Top 10 in any LIV start:
Jon Rahm’s first LIV Golf season:
• Individual Champion
• $34.7M on-course earnings
• Top 10 in every finished start“I thoroughly enjoyed it. Being able to go to Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, all those places in Asia and Australia was quite unique and so much fun.” pic.twitter.com/BzGcsshUTs

Rahm’s win at the individual championship in Chicago at Bolingbrook was enough for $22 million — $4 million for the win at the Tournament and $18 million for the win in the season-long race.
Rahm also commented on his first season on LIV:
“For anybody out there that’s wondering, it is a little bit different experience than any other Tour out there, but it is closer experience to pretty much any other sport out there…When it comes to golf, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Being able to go to Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, all those places in Asia and Australia was quite unique and so much fun. I hadn’t played in that part of the world, and to see the crowd, the love they had for us and the support for the game was absolutely heartwarming just to be able to be a part of that.”
Rahm continued:
“I think this league has gotten a lot of — quite a bit of a bad rap without people having experienced it. They’ve been too quick to judge. I think the vast majority of them would absolutely love spending a day out here. Most people that don’t like the music, the second they come, they get over it. It’s part of the atmosphere like in many other sports, and as a player and as a family man, it’s been a fantastic experience for myself and my family the times that they’ve been able to come. Can’t wait to get this season finished next week and start thinking about next year and seeing some different destinations.”
There were rumors of Rahm being regretful of his decision to leave the PGA TOUR and go to LIV. It does not sound like he’s too regretful after those words.
