FootJoy has released the Quantum golf shoe, a spikeless sneaker design that is great for the course, range, and anything in between.

Priced at $170, the shoe comes in three colorways, all catering to whatever look is most suitable for your style. But what truly stands out is its incredible comfort, something that was obviously a genuine focus of the FootJoy team when it was being designed.

At the top of the list is the SofFOAM technology, which truly makes the Quantum one of the most comfortable shoes, regardless of look or purpose, I’ve ever worn. Surrounding the shoe is lightweight mesh, a 3D collar for stability, a no-slip fit, and all-day comfort, and a multi-directional traction platform that decreases slippage regardless of what you’re playing on.

My first time wearing them was at the range, and they have become my dedicated shoe on mats and turf. From the first time I wore them, I knew they were going to be an ideal candidate for this, especially because there are more mats than grass ranges around me.

While they are suitable for the grass, I would only recommend them for the driest of days. The piece of mind I get from wearing something more traditional with spikes is worth it.

Fit

The standard fit, 9.5 sizing, was comfortable and ideal for my feet. This is my standard shoe size, and while I tend to vary from manufacturer, style, and other factors, these were a true-to-size type of situation.

They are snug at first, as all shoes are, but over the course of a few wears, it was apparent these were going to be the perfect fit.

Performance

These are shoes I typically recommend for the range. I previously stated I do think they would be ideal for on-course applications but not for wet or slick weather.

This is mostly due to the bottoms, and while the multi-directional traction design does help alleviate a lot of your worries, I simply feel more confident in swinging on grass in something spiked.

I recommend the FootJoy Traditions, my favorite golf shoe of all time.

Although I have not personally tried it, I think these would be great cross-trainers in the gym for those who do speed and agility training to improve their power for their golf game.

Final Thoughts

FootJoy truly does make the best shoes in golf, and their wide variety of options, colors, and sizings give a little something for everyone.

The Quantum is just the latest example of how comfort, quality, and style can all be combined into one.
