Anthony Kim Expected to Extend LIV Golf Tenure On New Terms
Anthony Kim shocked the golf world when he returned to professional golf by joining LIV Golf, years after he left the game and disappeared.
Kim was very open about his struggles in his personal life: everything from addiction to depression consumed him. He did not think he’d play professionally again.
However, he returned by signing with LIV, and it seems his tenure is set to be extended, especially considering he is a major draw for fans.
Kim is expected to be added to one of LIV Golf’s teams for the 2025 season, Sports Illustrated reports:
“For now, the plan is to proceed with a 54-player league as LIV did this year, which means there would be two wildcard spots. Those were held this year by Anthony Kim and Hudson Swafford, neither of whom performed very well, finishing near the bottom of the individual standings.
Kim is in line to perhaps be added to one of the teams, while Swafford is not expected back.”
Swafford did not play much worse than Kim, but Kim is undoubtedly a big draw for fans. When Kim was on the PGA TOUR, he garnered a cult-like following.
LIV has yet to announce the free agency window, where we saw some major moves made last season. The biggest was Talor Gooch being scooped up by Brooks Koepka’s Smash GC after Matthew Wolff was released after some well-publicized tension.
