Tom Kim’s Rough 2024 Continues in Reported Locker Room Meltdown After Playoff Loss
Tom Kim showed plenty of frustration this year in a rough 2024 that saw the Korean golfer go winless and just miss out on the FedEx Cup top 50 after recording two wins before the age of 21 in 2022 and grabbing another victory last year.
Kim has made headlines for losing his cool for damaging a green as part of a three-hole meltdown at the FedEx St. Jude Championship that cost him an automatic spot in all of next year’s Signature Events on the PGA Tour, and he then got into it with several U.S. golfers at last month’s Presidents Cup and called out the Canadian fans for not being supportive enough of the International Team.
On Sunday, Kim was looking to grab his first pro win in over a year at the Genesis Championship in Korea, which was a joint event of the DP World Tour and Korean PGA.
Kim held a two-stroke lead when Ben An decided to go driver on his approach shot on the par-5 15th, which paid off in the form of an eagle.
It eventually led to a playoff between the two, which An won.
Afterward, Korean media outlet Yonhap News Agency reported that Kim took out his frustrations on a locker inside the clubhouse.

Yonhap went on to report that Kim is being forced to pay to repair the damage and that he’s also facing potential further sanctions from the Korean PGA.
Kim hasn’t yet commented on the incident.
