A statue of one of the early dominators of the Open Championship was unveiled at St. Andrews last month.

But now, it appears that the statue of Old Tom Morris at “The Home of Golf” has been anything but hospitable.

Roger McStravick is the historian at St. Andrews and posted pictures that make it appear that the club head of the statue was broken off.

The statue was dedicated on Oct. 2 to honor the former club professional at the famous course who won the Open four times in the 19th century. His son, known as Young Tom Morris, also won the tournament four times.

McStravick said that the club and police would use surveillance footage to try to capture what had happened. There hasn’t been any word yet on if or when the statue will be fixed.
