Titleist Launches new Pro V1 and Pro V1x for 2025: Here’s What’s New
Titleist has enjoyed the title of having the most utilized golf ball across the professional and amateur ranks for years with the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. But the best is getting even better.
For 2025, Titleist focused on delivering more speed, more control, and more spin, equating to more distance, more fairways, and more birdie opportunities, all things that all players need to lower scores and play better golf.

Thanks to a new, faster high gradient core that is formulated to maintain long game spin while holding onto short game spin around the greens, this is the most high-tech ball Titleist has ever rolled out.
It is truly engineered to keep your game long but tight, meaning you will have more say over what your golf ball does.
Frederick Waddell, Titleist’s Director of Golf Ball Product Management, said:
“The golf ball has to do everything. It’s never just about maximizing one area – golfers need performance on every single shot. Each of our golf ball models is optimized for distance off the tee, and with 2025 Pro V1 and Pro V1x in particular, we’ve realized a speed gain while unlocking even better iron and wedge performance. All of which will help players shoot lower scores.”
Waddell’s comments truly encapsulate what Titleist wanted to accomplish with the 2025 versions of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. The type of ball you play needs to be complementary to your game.
You might be one of those people who thinks the cheapest ball will be fine for you, but you’re missing out on some true performance that could shave up to 10 strokes off of your score every round.
What’s New
Perfect Spin Rates Everywhere
The new Pro V1 and Pro V1x feature a new chemistry of a high gradient core. This was established through a “complete core reformulation,” which resulted in a steepening of the ball’s “spin slope.”
This is how Titleist was able to achieve a lower spin rate off the tee and a higher spin rate around the greens.
The Pro V1 has a single core, while the Pro V1x packs a dual-core.
Dimple Design
Pro V1 has 388 tetrahedral dimples for optimized distance and penetrating and consistent flight.

Pro V1X has 348 dimples, which help with a higher ball flight.
