Emiliano Grillo Slam Dunks an ACE at the Stadium Hole at WM Phoenix Open
Emiliano Grillo got the crowd going during the second round of the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale on Friday by slam-dunking an ace on the 16th, the notorious Stadium Hole.
Grillo was sitting at -1 when he came to the 16th, which is infamous for its rowdy, party-like nature that is full of noise, booze, and, as Joel Dahmen showed us in 2022, bellies.
While the entire weekend is more of a party than anything, there is no secret that this one hole stands out in particular. It is loud and it is tough to focus, but it surely brings out some awesome atmospheres out there.
16 is playing as a 155-yard Par 3 on Friday.
Grillo stepped up and slotted a perfectly hit iron shot directly inside the hole. No bounce or roll needed:

It is the second slam dunk ace in as many weeks on the PGA TOUR as Rory McIlroy managed to hit his second hole-in-one in his career last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
McIlroy went on to win the tournament. Grillo could have the same fate, but he currently sits nine back of Thomas Detry.
