MILESEEY GenePro G1 Rangefinder Review

This All-in-One Rangerfinder makes golf easier as it has not only standard features that you’d expect with any typical golf accessory, but also a few add-ons to truly separate it from competitors.

The MILESEEY GenePro G1 Rangefinder is unlike anything I’ve ever used in the past. I’ve had some great rangefinders, and I still think the Bushnell Tour V6 Shift is the best I’ve ever used. But the GenePro G1 is just different, and one specific feature sets it apart: a 2.13-inch AMOLED screen on the side that gives you more confidence in where you’re hitting the ball.

It also has adjustable pin placement for even more accuracy and confidence in your game. I got it out on the course for the first time today, and although my round was cut short by a massive thunderstorm, I realized this rangefinder will truly change how I play.

My First Round with the MILESEEY G1

I have been using the Tour V6 Shift from Bushnell for a while now, but I’m always willing to try new Rangefinders and distance measurement devices; I use a BlueTees GPS Speaker as well, which provides quick and accurate readings for lighter-intensity rounds with friends.

However, the G1 is one of the most innovative and interesting pieces of golf tech I have used in some time. I know I have not even scratched the surface of what it is capable of, so this will be more of a first-impressions piece that gives you an idea of quality and performance.

In the box, it comes with a charging cord, a case with a bag loop, a screen and lens cleaning cloth, and two instruction books. It is a high-quality box, which does not mean much but is always a nice touch.

I took a handful of images, and I first want to say that the screen is much brighter than what my iPhone camera gives it credit for. The sun made the screen look much dimmer than it really was for me; I could see everything clearly and with no real issue.

It gave me very accurate readings. I would adjust the pin location when I was on an approach shot, and it would be within 1-3 yards of what the manual shot would tell me for distance. It was really impressive and a very underrated feature.

The GPS layout was also very accurate: it had every body of water and accurate measurements of what it would take to get over them, bunkers, cart paths, and trees. It was really super cool to have all of this on a handheld device that is practically a necessity for any golfer in this day and age.

Here’s the layout of the second hole at Bridgewater Golf Club:

Here’s one of the Par 3 Third:

Readings were incredibly accurate, and that is truly all you want from a rangefinder. However, this is very obviously a device that has a lot of other features that I have not yet had the opportunity to try.

One of which is the “Measure from Cart” feature, which will be incredibly useful for Cart Path Only rounds.

I will advise you to give the instruction book a once-over. The buttons aren’t traditional, and there are three of them on top. One is a Power Button, the other two I’m still trying to figure out what they do (I didn’t read it before this round I played), so it’s not as intuitive as other models.

However, I could be blamed for this, but there are rangefinders out there that are much simpler to use.

Where to Buy

The Mileseey Golf Genepro G1 costs $498, and is available through the company’s Kickstarter website here.
