Heathlander Launches a Perfect Companion with ‘The Golf Shoe’

Heathlander might not be a brand that you think of off the top of your head when it comes to golf shoes, but I’m here to tell you that it should be in your mind for your next pair.

I am lucky and blessed enough to try so many different pairs of golf shoes that many of them do not tend to stand out too much. However, when I come across a pair that meets my three big needs (aesthetics, functionality, and comfort), I feel the need to spread the word.

Heathlander’s “The Golf Shoe” is a simple yet complex footwear option that combines functionality with top-tier looks and some supreme comfort. I was initially drawn to these shoes by their look:

I’m a sucker for a dressy golf shoe; I’m not huge on the athletic ones, though I do like to wear them when things are more relaxed or when I’m hitting the range.

Fit and Function

I was sent a pair in my natural 10.5 in the Surrey and Pink colorway, which is what you see above. They fit perfectly, and there is padding throughout the interior of the shoe that is not restrictive, as many other pairs are upon the first few wears.

I ended up wearing these for a full walking round of 18 holes right out of the box. I had no blisters, no pain, and no real issues other than what would be expected from walking six or seven miles up and down hills to get around the course.

One of the coolest things about this shoe is the sole and traction plate design, which I will admit I was skeptical about considering the flexibility of the treads:

They are easily moved with the push of your finger, and they’re not super stable or restricted in movement.

However, this did not cause me to slip or lose my footing with any shot, even in slick, wet weather. I was more than impressed with how stable I felt.

The sole features “proprietary molded rubber outsole with 9mm tread for maximum grip and traction,” and it works as well as any golf shoe I’ve tested from any manufacturer: SDR, Nike, FootJoy, Reebok, and others. It’s just as good as any other offering on the market.

Comfort

There is a lot of padding in the Heathlander shoe, more than most, and it really hugs your foot for what feels like a custom fit.

The only shoe I can think of that matches this level of comfort in recent memory is Nike Air Max Plus G, which was a true shock for me after I got my hands on it earlier this year.

I must say, this shoe gave me a similar reaction because these dressier shoes are not typically the most comfortable. Not to say that they’re uncomfortable to the point of not wearing them, but they are more catered toward look than functionality, in what I’ve experienced.

However, Heathlander really nailed the perfect balance. It’s a shoe I’ve really enjoyed playing golf in, and I am hopeful that it can hold up in the colder weather Pennsylvania offers.

Where You Can Buy

The Heathlander Golf Shoe is available for both Men and Women and can be purchased at Heathlander’s website. They also offer a wide variety of stylish, functional clothing options.

“The Golf Shoe” costs $205, and is available here.
