The Leadership Versus Execution Debate and Why David Duval is My Hero
Leadership versus Execution. Which is accountable for a loss, which is accountable for a win.
That was the crux of the debate between Brandel Chamblee, essentially the Skip Bayless of golf, David Duval, and Frank Nobilo.

Out of general principle, I always disagree with Brandel Chamblee. But in this case, he is legitimately grasping at straws here. The man could not be more wrong.
“OK, well I know you’re never wrong. I understand that.” – David Duval to Brandel Chamblee
High-five, David Duval.
What Chamblee is saying is Tiger and Phil should be good enough to beat two opposing players at once. Multiple times. That their leadership should be enough to will their playing partners into hitting better shots and making putts. Think about that for a second.
And as far as calling out players from the past like Palmer, Nicklaus, and Price, that is a straw man’s argument. The difference in competition level and talent between the two teams, including an expansion to include all of Europe, is night and day.
No. David Duval is right. This is game is about execution. And when it came down to the last day, both Woods and Mickelson have done just that.
Tiger Woods is 4-1-1 in individual match play in Ryder Cups. Phil is 5-5-1 in individual match play in Ryder Cups.
Brandel Chamblee, as he tends to do, is just saying words. Bravo to Mr. Duval for finally calling him out on it.
