Millennium Falcon Spotted Yards from Golf Course
Golf is already well known as one of the most popular sports in the world. But apparently, the sport may have some fans that come from galaxies far, far away.
Star Wars fans are highly anticipating the opening of Episode VIII, The Last Jedi, in just one more month but one of the most recognizable vehicles from the movies was spotted near a golf course in the United Kingdom.
Do to some sleuthing on google maps, fans discovered that the most popular ship, the Millennium Falcon, was hanging out near the Barrow Hills Golf Club, surrounded by storage containers.
If you’re wondering why your favorite Wookie and Jedi would be hanging out near the links in Surrey, England, there is a more realistic explanation than the heroes teeing up for 18 holes. Close to Barrow Hills is the Longcross Studios production company. Some of the filming for the upcoming movie was done in the area and this is where the Falcon has been stored.
"You've hidden the Millennium Falcon, right?"
"Don't you worry boss. No one's finding that any time soon." https://t.co/YnatRDA0zU pic.twitter.com/LccTA7LJXL— Leon Hurley (@LeonHurley) November 9, 2017
For fans, this is a welcome sight, knowing that the fastest ship in the galaxy will be making an appearance in the movie, despite its owner being killed in the previous movie. According to the Daily Mail, “The Falcon has appeared in the trailer for the eighth installment in thefalcon1 Star Wars saga, with Luke Skywalker seen going back aboard for the first time since Return of the Jedi. It was last seen being landed on a mysterious planet by heroine Rey and Chewbacca while searching for the missing Skywalker.”
The area where the Falcon is being stored can reportedly be seen from Barrow Hills Golf Club but the ship has had a tarp on top of it to hide what was underneath. Apparently, someone got lazy and forgot to cover it for Google World’s photoshoot.
Imagine playing on Barrow Hills and hitting an errant tee shot that strikes the Millennium Falcon. That golf ball could end up being the reason the hyperdrive is broken in Episode VIII.
Star Wars Episode VIII The Last Jedi comes out on December 15th. And for golf fans who’ve played their before, make sure to keep your eye out for shots of Barrow Hills in the upcoming movie.
