12-Year-Old from Jesup Georgia Sinks an Epic Albatross
Carding an Albatross (also knows as the “Double Eagle”) is one of the most difficult things a golfer can ever do. Many try, but almost no one even comes close. But one player is doing it pretty quickly into his golf career.
Finley Burke from Jesup, Georgia was playing in his fifth grade golf tournament when he began to have the round of his life. The shot that really made the day special came when Burke took out his 5-wood from 208 yards in the middle of the fairway. He hit the shot perfectly on the par 5 and the ball rolled right into the hole for the first albatross of the young man’s career.
Many players will go an entire lifetime without converting an albatross but Burke did it before he was even a teenager. And not only that, he did it with such little experience. Finley only started golfing about a year ago, first picking up the game in February of 2017!
Golfer Finley Burke makes rare Albatross Double Eagle

An Albatross is the rarest of birds to hit in a golf round. To put this accomplishment in perspective, it is a one in a million shot to make an albatross. Comparably, that means that Finley Burke had a better chance of getting struck by lightning than draining that shot.
And amazingly, that’s not even the only amazing shot that Burke made on the day. He actually made another remarkable shot on the hole before that, chipping in from the side of the green for a birdie. His father actually caught both shots on video and told reporters that Finley ended up shooting a 38 overall for the nine-hole tournament.
Overall, not bad for a young golfer who only picked up the game a year ago!
