FUNNY: Charles Barkley Gets The Shot Tracer Treatment
Charles Barkley is known for two things when it comes to sports, being an elite basketball legend and having one of the worst golf swings on the planet. And that swing was on full display this week.
Barkley doesn’t seem to make golf appearances often because of the ridicule he gets for his swing but he made an exception this week when he played in the Black Masters this week. Sponsored by the NBA on TNT and Barkley’s co-analyst Shaquille O’Neal, this is the second year that the event has taken place in Georgia.
Shaq eloquently describes the event as honoring mediocrity, which makes it the perfect event for Chuck to participate in. Sir Charles has always had a horrendous looking swing but top experts have even tried to give him tips and pointers on how to correct it. Yet, Barkley still has one of the worst swings in the game, but one of the best if you’re looking for a laugh.

That entertainment was made even better when Barkley had his tracked with the ProChaser technology that we’re used to seeing on the PGA TOUR. Rather than watching a nice baby fade go down the fairway, however, the tracer caught some of Barkley’s best moments as he sliced, hooked, and chunked his way down the course.
While Barkley may have caught all of the attention from his poor play, there were actually some good rounds that were put up by black athletes. The most notable would be Gary Sheffield, the former MLB outfielder, who won the event with a round of 86 to wear the Black Jacket. Chuck will hope for a better showing next year.
While Barkley is a ton of fun to watch, he really is trying out there. And maybe with a lot of help and even more luck, he could end up wearing that Black Jacket one day.
