A little over a year ago, we had the opportunity to review Lynx Golf’s Prowler VT, Forged CB, and Tour Blade irons.  Despite Steve Elford and Stephanie Zinser only recently purchasing Lynx from Golfsmith (following its 2016 bankruptcy), the duo have truly reinvigorated the brand with some top quality and performing golf products at an incredible price point, in addition to some unique developments like the Prowler VT with Switch Face Technology.

However, Lynx’s technological developments aren’t just limited to its metal woods.  Indeed, Lynx is debuting two new additions to its premium Prowler Collection: the VT Stinger driving irons and Prowler Forged irons.

With driving irons becoming a staple in tour pros bags, it’s become inevitable that dedicated amateurs are contemplating adding a new weapon to their bags too.  With respect to the VT Stinger, Lynx will be releasing it in 12.5° and 16° options, with each featuring variable face thickness technology that redistributes weight toward the periphery of the club face to increase MOI.  Impressively, this technology helps reduce the amount of sidespin imparted on off-center hits by up to 36%, improving accuracy and distance on mishits.

And in order to ensure that interested golfers find a complete setup, Lynx is offering the VT Stinger with either a KBS Tour steel shaft (for $129) or UST Mamiya Recoil graphite shaft ($149) (which I recently reviewed here in a driving iron setup and saw huge performance results).

Meanwhile, if you happen to be in the market for a set of irons, the Prowler Forged irons are centered around a premium 1020 steel forging (the same steel used by many major OEMs in their premium forged iron offerings).  The CNC milled head includes five fixed tungsten screws, which Lynx engineers have used to precisely position mass, resulting in a lower center of gravity and increased MOI.

In addition, the progressive offset design and 20% larger heads (in comparison to prior Lynx forged irons) further emphasize that the Prowler Forged irons have been designed to provide heightened playability, performance, and forgiveness.

A set of the Prowler Forged irons includes the 5 to PW (with both 3 and 4 irons available to purchase separately), and are available with either KBS Tour 90 iron shafts ($999) or UST Mamiya Recoil graphite shafts ($1,169).

“Our Prowler lines have been embraced by players around the world because they perform incredibly well and have a beautiful aesthetic that speaks to avid golfers,” says Steve Elford, CEO and co-owner of Lynx Golf. “These additions to the collection fill two spaces our customers have been asking for, a driving iron with outstanding performance and without the standard bulky look of modern hybrids, and a cavity-back forged iron that looks and feels as good as our blades, but offers added forgiveness.”

The new VT Stinger driving irons and Prowler Forged irons coincide with the launch of lynxgolfusa.com, with both new products available being immediately available in the United States.

Hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to test out these newest offerings from Lynx Golf, and if you happen to be in the market for a holiday present, these are certainly things you might want to include on your list to Santa.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron.
