It’s easy to get overwhelmed when it comes to golf ball options. Plain and simple.

Do you go for high spin, low launch, soft feel, you get where I’m going. The list goes on and on with options so it’s easy to just stick with what you know. The fine people over at Srixon want to throw another option into the mix. The third generation Q-STAR TOUR is the FastLayer Core.

With its gradual transition from soft inner core to firm outer edge, FastLayer behaves like a core with thousands of layers, delivering distance and soft feel without compromise. So, what does this mean? It goes far but stops when you need it to.

Srixon Golf Balls

Additionally, the new Q-STAR TOUR golf balls feature Srixon’s proprietary Spin Skin technology with Slide-Ring Material (SeRM), a urethane compound that coats the cover of every Q-STAR TOUR golf ball. This sounds like they are adding the golf version of receiver gloves to the cover of the ball. It’s designed to grab onto those groves in your wedge or irons and cause more spin/ stopping power. Basically, you can go at the pin with confidence.

Key Technologies:

    • New FastLayer Core: The new FastLayer Core offers distance and soft feel without compromise due to a gradual transition from soft inner core to firm outer edge.
  • New Spin Skin with SeRM: SeRM, a new urethane coating with flexible molecular bonds, digs deep into wedge and iron grooves for increased friction and maximum spin.
  • New Alignment Aid: New side stamping aids in alignment when standing over those critical putts.
  • 338 Speed Dimple Pattern: Providing a penetrating ball flight in any conditions, the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern increases lift and reduces drag to maximize distance.

Srixon Golf Balls Q Star TOUR

Srixon is throwing a ton of information into this Q-Series ball so its easily going to cost you $50 right? WRONG! The Srixon Q-STAR TOUR golf balls will cost $32.99 per dozen! That is not a bad price at all for what looks to be a premium ball. They will come in Pure White™ and Tour Yellow™ and officially launches in North America on January 17, 2020.

I look forward to trying these in the spring, but I’ll have to go with the yellow to start. No chance I’ll be able to find a white ball when the snow starts to melt in the Midwest.
