This past month without the PGA TOUR has been rough to handle, but could that all be coming to an end sooner than expected?

In a recent “Golf Central Update”, host Ryan Burr conducted an interview with Rex Hoggard, senior writer at golfchannel.com. Rex went on to explain how a memo was released to all players of the Tour, outlining answers to all the questions players had asked.

Rex went on to state:

“In the Memo the players were told they would have about 2 weeks to prepare before the return start date. One, they are very concerned about any travel issues that could occur. The tour is worried that players may have issues getting to their intended destination. The other one is, golfers, need their version of spring training, they need to have something to look forward to and start training towards, we haven’t had that since this all started, so they certainly want to give them enough time.”

In his recent interaction with the tournament director, Rex explained that there is talk of not having any spectators allowed on the property for the return of the season.

It has been a month now since the play has been suspended. How could this issue affect the players? How many players are practicing at home? Granted, many players are enjoying this time off and spending it with their family.

The winner of the 2019 Houston Open, Lanto Griffin, recently told the guys of the Golficity Podcast that he was going to enjoy being home for a couple of weeks. He recently rescued a dog from a shelter and wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.

As of Thursday night, the Tour is slated to return on May 21st for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s uncertain at this point how many players will participate, let alone be able to compete to the best of their ability with the new environment of the Tour. But time will tell and we can’t wait to have the game back in action!
