Certified. Killer.

Collin Morikawa wins the 102nd playing of the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park.

Collin has officially established himself as one of the best players in the world. And I’m not saying he’s in the Top 30, or even 20, Collin is one of the best 10 players in the world. His iron play is fantastic, drives it straight, and when he rolls the rock like he did this week, there is absolutely no stopping him. His final round was highlighted by his tee shot on 16, where he put it to 7 feet and capitalized and made eagle to get to -13. There is no question that Collin, along with Matthew Wolff, are the future of the PGA TOUR. The only question is, how many majors will this kid win?

Speaking of Matthew Wolff, he was the clubhouse leader when he finished up on the 18th green at -10. He played with confidence, and had the swagger of a young kid fully understanding of his own game. An eagle on 10 solidified his place in the tournament, and gave him a real chance to win. His final round of -5 wasn’t quite enough to take down his classmate.

Dustin Johnson was the 54-hole leader, and looked very solid most of the day. He’s due for a major victory, and that will come very soon. His play of late didn’t hint at him working his way into contention this week, but hey, that’s golf.

The biggest disappointment of Sunday afternoon was Brooks Kopeka. He talked a whole lot the night before, stating that he had the most experience in major tournaments and had won the most. He backed up all that lip with a nice Sunday round of +4, finishing outside the Top 25.

I grew up in southern New Hampshire, where I first fell in love with the game of golf. I started by just going out and messing around with my buddies and focusing purely on having a good time! I never took golf seriously until I moved down to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! At the start of my junior year I got a job working as a cart boy at a local private country club. This is when I started to focus on golf becoming my career. During the fall of my senior year, I turned from a 14 handicap, to a 2. I passed the PAT scoring test my first try and haven't looked back.
