BREAKING: PXG Releases Affordable, Reasonably Priced Clubs?
Let’s just all admit that yesterday was a crazy day. In fact, maybe the craziest thing occurred after dark when PXG released reasonably priced clubs that undercut, if not are equivalent to, pricing from the major OEMs.

To explain, PXG released its 2021 0211 Collection, which consists of the:
- 0211 Driver (available in 9°, 10.5° and 12°);
- 0211 Fairway Woods in 3 (15°), 5 (18°) and 7 (21°);
- 0211 Hybrids (available in 19°, 22°, 25° and 28°); and
- 0211 Irons in 4 (19°) through Lob Wedge (60°).
PXG released the original 0211 irons in 2019 with the goal of providing the premium PXG performance found in its 0311 GEN2 irons in a more reasonably priced packaging. To explain, the 0211 irons contained the same HT1770 maraging steel faces and COR2 polymer material filing, but were bundled together in a cast construction and, as a result, were priced at $195 per head with steel shafts.
Perhaps the biggest flaw of the first gen 0211s was they didn’t look that great. While the rivets, for better or worse, have become a PXG signature design feature, the 0211s ditched them and went for a drastically more simplistic, clean look. Additionally, the 0211s were just irons and, therefore, if you wanted to go full-bag PXG, you were required to go to the premium lineup for a driver, fairway woods and hybrids.

Simply put, the 2021 0211 collection allows you to have a bag filled with PXG’s technology, along with a few unique design features, at a very reasonable price.
Starting with the top, the 0211 Driver will come with a high-speed titanium allow (Ti412) face, carbon crown, a single, rear-positioned weight port, adjustable hosel and PXG’s signature honeycomb TPE insert. All of these features work together to create a high speed, forgiving, high launching driver.

The 0211 Fairways and Hybrids both feature a high strength HT1770 stainless steel face, a carbon crown, a single, forward positioned weight port and the PXG honeycomb TPE insert. However, the 0211 Fairways and Hybrids both feature a new design element that hasn’t been incorporated into prior PXG models: railed sole geometry. Similar, but not as pronounced as the Cobra baffler rails, the PXG railed sole geometry features two tracks that stretch from the front to back and help lower the center of gravity, improve forgiveness on off-center strikes and improve turf interaction.
Finally, the 0211 Irons, which feature PXG’s DualCOR filing, a high strength HT1770 stainless steel face and progressive design (meaning the longer irons have longer blade length, lower bounce and more offset, whereas the shorter clubs have shorter blade length, more bounce and less offset).
NOW, I’ve mentioned the word “reasonable” several times in this article, so you’re probably thinking that means “PXG reasonable” (a.k.a, a driver only costs $750 instead of the normal $1,200). HOWEVER, the new lineup is reasonable to the point that it undercuts the pricing of comparable gear from other major, established OEMs. Don’t believe me? Well here’s the current pricing breakdown for the 2021 0211 collection:
- 0211 Driver for $295;
- 0211 Fairway Woods for $245;
- 0211 Hybrids for $225; and
- 0211 Irons for $115 per club (steel shaft), or $920 for an 8-club set or $1,150 for the entire 0211 .
That’s right, you can grab the brand new 0211 Driver for about $150 less than whatever 2021 models are coming out from the other major OEMs, about $50 less for a fairway and $25 less for a hybrid.
This is huge for anyone who’s wanted to try PXG stuff, but has shied away from possibly falling in love because of the price tag. Indeed, I’m in the market for a fairway wood and since I’m in love with my PXG 0811X driver, there’s no doubt that I’ll be testing the 0211 Fairway Wood (along with the other 2021 offerings) at my local Club Champion once they’re available.
That said, there are some indications that this isn’t the full 0211 lineup. Indeed, images have been floating around and other 0211 clubs have been spotted on the PGA Tour. Specifically, the 0211FB irons, and they look damn good and are, allegedly, triple forged…

The only confusing thing about these is that they’ve been spotted with and without the PXG rivets. Personally, I think they look super clean and great without.
