TOUR NEWS: Limited Attendance At 2021 Masters Is The Plan For Fred Ridley
I think we can all agree, a fan-less Masters was…odd.
Patrons at Augusta National is one of the things that makes the Masters, the Masters. Now, with COVID-19 essentially just getting worse, we were looking at the same situation this April as we did in November. But, that may not be true.
The Masters is planning on using similar protocols that they did in November, for this playing in April. With this in place, they intend to admit a limited number of patrons, if it can be done safely.
“Following the successful conduct of the Masters Tournament last November with only essential personnel, we are confident in our ability to responsibly invite a limited number of patrons to Augusta National in April. As with the November Masters, we will implement practices and policies that will protect the health and safety of everyone in attendance. Nothing is, or will be, more important than the well-being of all involved. While we are disappointed that we will be unable to accommodate a full complement of patrons this year, we will continue our efforts to ensure that all who purchased tickets from Augusta National will have access in 2022, provided conditions improve.” – Chairman Fred Ridley

They still intend to play the Women’s Amateur, and Drive, Chip, & Putt as scheduled – both with limited attendance.
