At the The American Express pro-am on Thursday, one-armed amateur Laurent Hurtubise made a hole-in-one on the 151-yard par-3 fourth hole at the PGA West Stadium Course in La Quinta, California.

Hurtubise, who was born with a right arm that ends just below the elbow, has participated in this event several times after starting to play the game at 11-years-old, according to PGATour.com.

“As a kid, sports was a way for me to prove that even though I had a difference that I could perform as well as normal people … as they call them,” Hurtubise told the Desert Sun in 2018.

“People have differences and handicaps and whatever, but it was my way to prove that I could be as good as everybody else.”

This is incredible. It always amazed me how someone is able to swing so accurately with only one arm; it’s tough enough to avoid slicing the ball with two. There is no chance I would be able to hit anything remotely straight with one arm, let alone make any contact. Hurtubise was an amateur partnered with pro Troy Merritt in the tournament, here is what Merritt had to say:

What an awesome achievement for Hurtubise and more importantly, the celebration was well deserved!

Kyle won't turn any heads on the course except when he is yelling "Fore!". He might not be anything special on the course but he is an avid fan of the game that loves to play daily fantasy and lay some bets on the pros.
