BAD NEWS: Layoffs Announced for the Orlando Based ‘Golf Channel’
This is terrible news for the folks over at the once Orlando based Golf Channel.
Here’s the story on Golf Channel letting staff know the next step in layoffs that are coming. Incredibly unpleasant story to report. Friends, former colleagues and some of the hardest working people in the business I know could be affected. No bueno. https://t.co/zDH3ZU0p5h

Back in February The Golf Channel announced that they will be moving their offices to Connecticut. It was speculated then that layoffs may be coming. Today the NBC owned Golf Channel informed many of their Orlando Based employees that they would be laid off starting at the end of August.
My heart goes out to my fellow colleagues and friends @GolfChannel. Golf is a small yet big community and we must stick together!

The layoffs range from Camera operators to writers. Coming from a job in corporate America I know this all too well. My heart goes out to the entire staff over at the Golf Channel. The Golf Channel has been based in Orlando since 1995 and this move to Connecticut was made mostly for tax reasons. Like any business, it’s ran by the almighty dollar.
I hope those impacted individuals are able to find work quickly as today’s news has to be difficult to hear.
