Ben Hogan is Back in the Putter Game
Building off the incredibly successful 2018 re-launch of their new lines of hybrids, irons, and wedges, Ben Hogan Golf announced today it’s getting back into the putter game with the release of a Precision Milled FORGED putter line.
And just as they did with their previous lines of equipment, Ben Hogan is challenging the traditional price points with the new putter line.
“What makes this new line even more special is our factory-direct business model, which provides golfers with an ultra-premium forged milled putter at a price far less than many mass-market investment cast putters,” explains Scott White, CEO of Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company, “in fact, while many of today’s leading putter brands sell their top models at $400 or more through retail channels, we allow serious golfers to purchase one of our new Precision Milled FORGED putters for just $250 direct at BenHoganGolf.com. This is unheard of given the feel, consistency and pure performance attributes of our forged putters, which are synonymous with Ben Hogan’s uncompromising standards.”
That’s right. Fully CNC precision milled forged putters for 250 bucks. Incredible.
The new CNC precision milled putters are crafted from soft, 1020 carbon steel in a multi-step forging process that strengthens and purifies the molecular structure of the metal. True forging refines and tightens the grain structure of the steel and provides for uniform density across the entire face. This eliminates hot spots, or dead areas, and results in unparalleled feel, consistent distance control, and “trueness” on every roll.
The new line of putters are available in four traditional head models with clean, elegant lines, and have Ben Hogan’s proprietary DBM (Diamond Black Metal) finish. The most durable black finish on the market, DBM eliminates glare and generates more contrast with the ball and putting surface to promote better alignment. This is the same DBM finish that are on the Ft. Worth Black irons, which I’ve seen and tested first hand and absolutely fell in love with.
The four available models are:
The Plumber’s Neck Blade has a one shaft offset, a 355 gram head weight, and 43° toe hang to promote an active gate-swing putting stroke.

The Iconic Player’s Blade with a flowing neck has the same offset and head weight as The Player’s Blade, but has 50° of toe hang, ideal for those of us with an active open/close stroke.

And finally, the Player’s Mallet, which has a single bend shaft, a 1/2 shaft offset, and a 370 gram head weight. The Player’s Mallet is face balanced just like The Player’s Blade.

The new line of putters is more evidence that Ben Hogan Golf is continuing to hold to their pledge of producing high quality equipment. While we get to take advantage of their new direct to consumer model pricing.
