Queue the Will Smith “Hitch” quote: “I saw that going differently in my mind.” The Memorial borderline played like a U.S. Open course this weekend, and I for one, did not see that coming. I knew they were going to make the course a bit harder, but I did not anticipate a winning score in the single digits. This week should be an easier layout in Minnesota at the 3M Open, let’s get into it.

To Win the 3M Open: Tommy Fleetwood (+1700)

The big name players have been winning all of the tournaments since the return of the Tour, and even though this field is pretty weak, I see it happening again with Fleetwood’s return. He’s a premiere iron players and should be able to contend.

To Finish Top 10: Jhonattan Vegas (+550)

Vegas is one of those guys that you see creep up the leaderboard in tournaments like these. He’s a great driver of the ball, which is going to be very important at a bomber’s course like TPC Twin Cities, and with this value, it’s worth a flyer on him to get hot.

Tournament Matchups:

Jhonattan Vegas (-110) over Charley Hoffman

As you can tell, I’m a fan of Vegas this week and I’m even more confident in this because of who they matched him up against. Hoffman really hasn’t been great since the return of the Tour with the exception of one week, and I think this course fits Vegas’ game very well.

Cameron Tringale (+110) over Patrick Rodgers

To me, Patrick Rodgers is a great guy to play when the course is a bit tougher because of his excellent putting. But at a course like this, he’s not a guy who will consistently go low, and Tringale is. Tringale is 11th in first round scoring average and he’s 22nd in SG: approach. I see this being a good week for him.

LOCK OF THE WEEK (1-1): Sepp Straka (-137) over Tom Lewis

We don’t get a large sample size of Tom Lewis over here on the PGA Tour, but I am a huge fan of Straka this week. He’s played very well at some of the easier courses since the return of the Tour, and I see that continuing this week in Minnesota.
