BETS: Matchups, Faders, Straight Up Winners, & More // Wyndham Championship
The locks of the week are 4-1 so far, so if you’ve been tailing them, congrats. If not, now’s the time to start!
What a week it was for Morikawa, winning the PGA Championship and winning a tournament matchup easily over Hideki Matsuyama. Let’s get into the Wyndham Championship this week, where there’s always a ton of great storylines considering it’s the last chance to crack the top 125 in the FedEx standings and make the playoffs.
To Win The Wyndham Championship: Patrick Reed +1400
Patrick Reed is somebody who’s won here in the past, and has sneaky been playing really well recently. He had a good week at the PGA Championship, and in a week where putting is going to be very important, I like Reed to take it this week and solidify his spot in the playoffs.
To Finish Top 10: Brendon Todd +450
Another great putter and someone who has been playing unreal golf recently, I like Brendon Todd’s fairways and greens approach to the game to work well this week.
Tournament Matchups
Harris English (-135) over Sung Jae Im
Harris English is coming off of 4 (!) straight top 20s and has made the cut in 4/5 events since the restart. Sung Jae Im, on the other hand, has been one of the players that the Covid break really hurt as he just hasn’t put it together since the restart. I like English to take this one easily.
Kevin Kisner (Even) over Shane Lowry
Yes, Shane Lowry needs a good week to get into the FedEx Cup Playoffs if you’re into that sort of storyline, but he’s a terrible putter, which won’t help him this week. Kevin Kisner has a great course history and he’s a fantastic putter. This is a great course set up for Kis, so I like him to even contend this weekend.
LOCK OF THE WEEK: JT Poston to Make the Cut (-175)
These locks are 4-1 since I started making them, so now’s not the time to hop off the bandwagon. Poston shot a 62 on Sunday here to win last year, so I don’t see him missing the cut at a course like this.
