Yesterday we noted that Justin Thomas would be joining the Atlanta Drive GC of the upcoming TGL Golf League.  And it seems that the announcements are coming in fast and furious, because his announcement wasn’t alone.

Just a few hours ago, Boston Common Golf announced its roster: Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott, Keegan Bradley and Tyrrell Hatton.

McIlroy said:

“I’m thrilled to join Boston Common Golf and to be representing Boston and New England’s rich sports culture. TGL brings a unique dimension to the game, and I can’t wait to stand with Adam, Keegan, and Tyrrell as my teammates. It’s a fantastic opportunity that will offer us all a chance to build lasting connections and to foster regional pride that you don’t often see in the game of golf.”

Although Boston Common Golf represents the Boston / New England are, TGL teams will be playing their matches in Florida when TGL begins in January.

Notably, Boston Common Golf is owned by John Henry and Fenway Sports Group, who commented on the roster announcement:

“These four remarkable golfers have achieved an extraordinary list of accolades as individuals, and together as a group, they convey an unmistakable sense of exceptionalism that not only commands respect but also instills a profound sense of awe, especially among their competitors. Rory, Tyrrell, Keegan, and Adam stand at the very heart of our team’s potential for success in this groundbreaking venture and we extend our gratitude to each of them for embarking on this journey with us.”

Alongside JT and the Boston Common’s announcements, Collin Morikawa likewise confirmed that he would be joining the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), who is owned by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Serena and Venus Williams.

Morikawa’s announcement, however, was quickly clouded by his own comments. Specifically, Morikawa stated that:

“I just got chills through my body, I don’t think I’ve ever answered a call like this, I got my Ryder Cup call this year, but I think this tops it almost.”

As you can expect, especially after a losing Ryder Cup, Collin’s statements were not well received by the golfing community.

TGL will consist of six teams, three of whom—TGL New York, TGL San Francisco and the sixth, unannounced team—have not made any announcements about any of the players who will be joining their roster.  Because there’s still several weeks before the TGL gets started, we can expect several announcements from the other teams and players, as well as confirmation of this unknown sixth team, in the coming weeks.
