Brandel Chamblee And Brooks Koepka Throw Shade Again
Brandel Chamblee and Brooks Koepka are known for the jousts that they have back and forth in the media. Many thought those days may be behind us, with Koepka proving Chamblee wrong almost all the time, but the two are back at it again.

This time, the topic that has them all riled up is the pace of play issue. Bryson DeChambeau is the latest player to be criticized for his intricate pace on the course but Chamblee decided to talk about players who play too fast. Chamblee used the example of someone hitting a longer drive than their playing partner and then walking up to the ball before their partner hits. He directly mentioned Koepka by using a video of him doing this as a demonstration.
“The rudest players you ever play with are not slow,” Chamblee explained on Golf Central. “They may be annoying, but they are not rude. The rudest players you ever play with are fast players. You heard Bryson DeChambeau say if I hit it past somebody I’m not going to go up and get in front of him. But fast players will do that. And I can promise you it’s not the proper etiquette.”
Don’t worry I wasn’t in the way @chambleebrandel . If it was you playing I would never stand there. Since it’s Rory I felt pretty confident he wouldn’t shank it

Koepka wasn’t going to listen to this without having a response, however. He quickly went to Twitter to inform Chamblee that he wasn’t in the way and that he trusts Rory won’t hit him. Koepka did go on to throw a shot back, adding that if Chamblee were the one hitting behind him he would never approach his ball for fear of getting hit by a shanked shot.
If there’s any positive for Chamblee, at least Koepka didn’t bring up his lackluster performance at The Senior Open Championship. Chamblee ended up appreciating Koepka’s humor but one has to wonder if the criticism will ever stop. Chamblee has already come out saying that he isn’t sold that Koepka is a great player and said losing weight sabotaged Koepka before the Masters.
With so much that Chamblee appears to be obsessed with when it comes to Koepka, it looks like there’s no end in sight for this feud. Chamblee may be quiet for a while after this bickering but I’m sure he’ll be back with another hot take about Koepka before the season is over.

Obviously different aspects to this discussion for average golfers versus pros. It might be rude for a pro to take a shot in front of another player, even a slow one. But for weekend golf if I wait for other players in my group to step off their yardage for three minutes before hitting my shot (when I’m just ahead of him or off to the side near the green) It could take 5 hours to play. Ready golf is the only cure for slower players in a group. I think courses should designate a captain for groups that is… Read more »
