BREAKING: Bryson Already Benching New Cobra Driver?
The Cobra AeroJet driver has been out less than a month and promises to be their best yet.
But, remarkably, Bryson DeChambeau—who allegedly had input on the AeroJet’s design—has already put the new driver on the bench in favor of a competitor’s.

Instagram account SMS On Tour, which tracks player’s equipment choices on the DP World Tour, spotted Bryson’s bag in advance of the Saudi International, where many of the LIV golfers are competing this weekend, and noticed that a TaylorMade Stealth2 Plus, rather than one of the new AeroJet models.
Bryson’s “frustrations” with Cobra’s driver are, unfortunately, well documented. In 2021, in fact, Bryson went as far as stating the RadSpeed “sucks,” explaining:
“It’s not a good face for me, and we’re still trying to figure out how to make it good on the mis-hits. I’m living on the razor’s edge, like I’ve told people for a long time.”
While Bryson later apologized for his statements, the fact that Bryson has now shunned his primary sponsor—during a time when sponsors are having a firesale with their LIV golfers—is likely to ruffle some more feathers and raise some uncomfortable questions about Cobra’s decisions makers.
Bryson’s implicit rejection of the AeroJet certainly doesn’t bode well for Cobra as the new 2023 drivers start to reach fitters and retailers, so it will be interesting to see if a fix can be found that helps the AeroJet find its way back into the former U.S. Open champion’s bag.
