It looks like we’re getting some golf action this month!

It was announced on Monday that TaylorMade will be hosting “Driving Relief” event on May 17th which is expected to be televised for all golf fans to see. The event is set to take place at the Seminole Golf Club in Florida.

TaylorMade is hoping the $3 million skins competition will provide much-needed money to the American Nurses Foundation and the CDC Foundation.

As for the participants for the event, TaylorMade is putting four of its best guys in the spotlight, starting with the top player in the world, Rory McIlroy who will be teaming up with former world #1 Dustin Johnson. They’ll be competing against two former Oklahoma State Cowboy golfers, Rickie Fowler and young up-and-comer Matthew Wolff.

The set-up of the event is interesting as well, with team McIlroy/Johnson competing for the American Nurses Foundation and team Fowler/Wolff playing on behalf of the CDC Foundation. This way, both organizations should receive a healthy portion of the $3 million purse.

On top of that already hefty prize fund, Farmer’s Insurance has also partnered with TaylorMade to donate an extra $1 million to a birdies and eagle pool that will provide each organization extra donations for every birdie and eagle made.

If this doesn’t sound great enough, the event is set to take place on live TV. According to early reports, it looks like the match will be broadcast from 2-6 p.m. EST on May 17th. Those who are looking to tune in can find the event being covered on NBC, NBCSN, Golf Channel, and Sky Sports.

As you probably expected, there will be no fans or spectators allowed due to strict social distancing guidelines, so the only way to catch the event in on TV.

While there is still a long way to go until we see tournaments winding back up to a consistent schedule this is certainly a good step. And make sure you can tune in because who knows how long it will be until we get another live tournament this year.
