California Man to Play 50 Rounds of Golf in All 50 States in 50 Days, Starting in Hawaii
Some golfers may have a dream course, that one in that state so far away you’ll never get to play. Others make it goal to play as many different courses as they can. California resident Clay Phillips probably falls somewhere in between the two.
Phillips, who’s been golfing for 50 years, has made it a goal to play 50 rounds, each in a different state, in a span of just 50 days.
What’s even better, is that he’s not just doing it for kicks; Phillips goal with the whole ordeal is to raise money for two very specific charities.
His charities of choice are Project Blue and Water First International. Both are responsible for helping people have access to clean water.
“Easy access to clean water. It has always stunned me just how many millions of people die from dirty water, and not only that, but also the millions of people whose economies are in turmoil.”
– Phillips said in an interview with ABC10 News.
Donations of any size are encouraged, and can be given through his website.
Phillips journey will start it in Hawaii in August, and finish up in California, 50 days later.
