CONGRATS: DJ Celebrates With The Gretzky’s

It was a magical week at The Masters as usual at Augusta National where there were plenty of fantastic moments and stories. But at the end of the week, it was nothing but a celebration for Dustin Johnson.

For years, DJ has been a perennial favorite at almost every major championship in golf because of his long-distance off the tee that keeps him competitive in almost every event he plays. Despite being the favorite in a lot of those majors, DJ just hadn’t lived up to the hype and only delivered a major win in the 2016 U.S. Open until he captured his first green jacket this weekend.

And DJ won the green jacket in impressive fashion no less. He came into the Masters as the #1 golfer in the World Golf Rankings and yet again, was a heavy favorite. Without any spectators to take in the event and having to play months later than usual, DJ put on a show for everyone watching at home, shooting -20 which ended up being a five-shot victory.

While Johnson was able to celebrate with family on the course, namely his brother Austin who also happens to be his caddie, he was also joined by his fiancee, Paulina Gretzky. I’m sure you recognize the Gretzky name and yes, Paulina is the daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. And the Gretzky family had a little celebration of their own for their soon to be family member.

Sara Gretzky shouted out her soon to be brother-in-law with a “Let’s go fam!” post on social media. The best part was Janet Gretzky, Wayne’s wife, posting on Instagram how they watched DJ win the jacket. “‘Twas the night before the Masters and all through house not not a creature was stirring not even a mouse . Wait I am lying Wayne was pacing all night and I couldn’t sleep !! 😂 now let’s Go Dustin 💚⛳️💚 no one has his back like his brother Austin Johnson !!! We love you,” she used as her caption.

This is certainly an exciting moment for DJ and his entire family, including the Gretzky’s and we hope they celebrate it up. And we hope that DJ and Wayne can now argue about who has the biggest sports accomplishments or at least show them all off at Thanksgiving this year.
